Mr. Gardner is Owner/Principal of Gardner Engineering & Consulting PLLC. Utilizing over twenty years of diversified structural / civil / geotechnical engineering experience, including more than ten years of coordinating special inspection services, Kelly brings practical and effective problem solving ideas to each project.
From industrial to commercial to residential projects, Mr. Gardner’s professional experience spans decades and includes millions of dollars worth of construction. Kelly continues to build on his broad experience by utilizing the newest technology for structural analysis, 3D modeling and innovative construction materials and methods.
GEC utilizes the latest computer analysis and modeling software to produce efficient and cost effective client solutions. The power of Revit 3D models, Tekla design software, TEDDS calculations and other specialized engineering software all provide GEC the resources to perform efficient structural engineering of individual building components as well as complete building systems. GEC has experience designing with a variety of construction materials including reinforced concrete, structural steel, aluminum, masonry and wood.
When building components fail or when natural disasters strike, determining the full extent of the damage is just one step in the recovery process. A full review, assessment and analysis of the conditions must be performed to gather the necessary data needed to use in engineering the proper solution. GEC has experience in evaluating numerous building component failures as well as the effects of natural disasters on buildings. When necessary, our forensic experience can be utilized for expert witness testimony in litigation cases.
Not all commercial building projects require the services of a registered architect or licensed engineer, however, applicable building codes must still be adhered to. GEC offers our experience and expertise with current national and state specific building codes to owners, developers and contractors as a consulting service to assist with navigating the codes. These services are offered for the building planning stage as well as during construction.
Most statewide building codes include requirements for special inspections and testing during the construction phase of a project. Such inspections and testing can only be provided by highly qualified testing firms. GEC has been involved with special inspections for over a decade, both with field experience and in the code development/code writing process.
